Egyptian produce seasonal calendar for importers

Egypt’s climate allows a long harvest calendar. By combining products, an importer can source from one Egyptian supplier almost all year. This calendar shows typical export windows; exact dates depend on variety, region and weather, so confirm availability against your shipment week.

Frozen products: year-round

Frozen strawberries, mango, okra, molokhia, mixed vegetables, French fries and dates ship year-round from frozen stock. Fresh fruit is processed during its own season — strawberries from December to May, for example — and stored at −18 °C or colder.

How to use the calendar

Build a year-round programme

Egypt’s seasons overlap. A retailer can run citrus from November to May, grapes from May to October and pomegranates in the autumn, with sweet potatoes and onions alongside. Planning several products with one supplier simplifies quality control and paperwork.

Book early for peak weeks

Peak weeks are also peak demand weeks. Container space, packing capacity and printed materials for private label all need to be planned. Share your weekly forecast before the season starts.

Use the shoulders of the season carefully

The first and last weeks of a season can offer attractive prices but different fruit characteristics: early citrus may be less coloured, late onions may have been stored longer. Adjust the specification for these weeks rather than rejecting fruit on arrival.

Why Egyptian seasons can move

Temperature in winter, heat waves in spring and water availability can shift harvests by days or weeks. Varieties also differ: Navel and Valencia oranges, or Superior and Crimson grapes, are weeks apart. That is why every quotation from us confirms availability for your specific shipment week.
